About Sam Everson

Sam is currently the Head Teaching Professional at Harrogate Golf Club in North Yorkshire. Sam’s coaching career begun when he passed his PGA exams in 2006.

Sam has been based at Harrogate Golf Club for over 20 years and changed his role in 2022 to specialise in coaching, becoming Head Teaching Professional. Sam has forged strong relationships with both members of the club and non members in the local area. He has an excellent coaching reputation working with beginners through to elite players. Recently Sam has furthered his knowledge in Biomechanics and Skill Aqcuisition, both areas of the game that are pivotal to improving his students performance.

Sam was delighted to be designated PGA Fellow Coach status in 2024, recognising his significant and sustained impact and achievement within coaching.  In early 2026 he attained TPI Level 1 accreditation and is currently working towards level 2 to further enhance his knowledge of the body swing connection which every golfer has unique to them.

Sam takes a holistic approach to his coaching and believes in working with the student as an individual to best achieve your aims. Whilst keeping lessons simple, Sam utilises video and GC QUAD launch monitor technology to enhance the lesson experience and fast track improvement.

Having worked with Foresight Sports GC QUAD for 6 years now Sam is skilled at using the data and communicating it simply to his students.

Sam firmly believes that the learning process doesn’t end when the lesson is complete. He offers a full WhatsApp coach support for all his students, sending a short video detailing the key points of your lesson. This ensures that you get maximum results during practice between your lessons.

One of Sam’s philosophies is that golf should be coached in the environment it’s played wherever possible. This means that his coaching packages often includes on course sessions on the superb parkland course at Harrogate. This blended with range-based lessons enables Sam to highlight areas that may present whilst playing on the course and work on these through building technique in a more pressure free environment.
